Magnetically ejected disks: Equatorial outflows near vertically magnetized black hole
Karas, Vladimír ; Sapountzis, K. ; Janiuk, A.
We show an example of an equatorial outflow driven by a large scale magnetic field. We initiate our computations with a spherically symmetric distribution of gas, which flows on to the domain from a large distance, r R+. After the flow settles in a steady (Bondi) solution, we impose an axially symmetric configuration of a uniform (Wald) magnetic field aligned with the rotation axis of the black hole. Then we evolve the initial configuration numerically by employing the MHD code that approaches the force-free limit of a perfectly conducting fluid. We observe how the magnetic lines of force start accreting with the plasma while an equatorial intermittent outflow develops and goes on ejecting some material away from the black hole.
The fields of current loops around black holes

The field of a test current loop placed symmetrically in the equatorial plane around a Kerr black hole has been studied several times and solutions have been published in different forms. We compare these results and determine their limits in important places - in radial infinity, on the outer event horizon, on the static limit, in the equatorial plane and on the axis of symmetry. Furthermore, we show the behaviour of the field corresponding to the extreme black hole and verify Meissner effect. In the end we determine the field of a simple model of a current disc by a superposition of test current loops. This problem has an astrophysical motivation - the description of accretion discs in the vicinity of black holes. 1

The magnetic field of a test circular current loop placed symmetrically around a Schwarzschild black hole has been determined several times in the literature and solutions has been expressed by different formulas. We compare these formulas analytically as well as numerically, and show, in particular, how they behave on the symmetry axis, in the equatorial plane and on the horizon. The problem is relevant for modelling accretion discs around black holes.

Magnetic field of equatorial current loop around Schwarzschild (or Kerr) black hole has been studied in many papers and solutions expressed in different forms. In this work we summarize derivations of some of these solutions, illustrate them on specific examples and compare these examples. We also indicate analytic com- parison of some of the formulas. Published formulas lead, as expected, to same results, but some of them are more convenient for numerical evaluation. 1

In 2009 Bañados, Silk and West described the possibility of principally unbounded collision energies in the centre-of-mass frame for the particle collisions in the vicinity of black holes. Their work attracted a big response. This thesis aims to summarise the results of a number of the articles about the topic and puts these results into a new, broader context. It also presents some generalisations of the existing results, especially for models of magnetised black holes. The main subject of interest is the question, whether the unbounded collision energies can be achieved in a single-scattering or multiple-scattering process which was first formulated by Grib, Pavlov and Zaslavskii. Variety of methods is summarised. A considerable attention is paid to the limiting near-horizon description, which is further developed in order to derive new links and relations among known results, particularly between the purely theoretical work dealing with the geometry of degenerate horizons and their vicinity and more astrophysical articles about magnetic fluxes. Kopáček, Ondřej ; Karas, Vladimír ; Kovář, J. ; Stuchlík, Z.
The authors present a detailed comparison of several integration schemes applied to the dynamic system consisting of a charged particle on the Kerr background endowed with the axisymmetric electromagnetic test field.
